Description
Amaranth (Kiwicha as it is known in Peru) is a superfood that has been cultivated in the Andean regions since the time of the Incas and was considered sacred by them. With a high nutritional value, 100 grams of amaranth contain twice as much calcium as the same amount of milk.
Amaranth is gluten-free and non-GMO, plus it is a powerful source of antioxidants, phosphorus, iron, and vitamins.
cooking instructions
No need to rinse before cooking. Add 1 cup of amaranth to 1 ¾ cups of boiling water. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes or until the water has evaporated.
Enjoy Amaranth in your breakfast replacing it or adding it to your cereals. Salt or spice to taste and prepare main dishes, desserts and everything you can imagine.
